A Principal and member of TBG’s Dallas office since 2011, Yixiao has a uniquely diverse background and skill set that allow her to contribute in many ways on all varieties of planning and landscape architecture projects. She combines highly analytical thinking with a demonstrated talent for evidence-based research and design. Yixiao assists with everything from client correspondence, helping organize creative planning workshops and attending project meetings to quality control, project management, design concepts and producing deliverables. She is an exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys verbal and written communication in both English and Chinese. She has participated in a number of prominent design competitions, both locally and internationally, and has been the recipient of many scholarships and awards.

Yixiao grew up in Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi Province in central China and starting point of the Silk Road. As the daughter of two biology professors, Yixiao often spent long days on field trips with her parents exploring the Qin Mountains, collecting flora and fauna during the day before nighttime stories by the fire under star-filled skies. Yixiao studied biology during university and her research topic as a genetics master’s student analyzed circadian rhythm mechanisms in fruit flies.
