Tom Afflerbach

A co-founder of the firm, Tom has 30-plus years of wide-ranging professional experience encompassing all aspects of planning and landscape architecture. He focuses primarily on planning for large-scale developments and has helped shape the look and feel of many successful communities in the greater Austin and Houston regions. Tom brings an in-depth understanding of how to successfully plan and design environments that balance needs for performance and aesthetics to provide enduring value.

Tom was born in Corpus Christi but moved to Austin in middle school and quickly gained an affinity for the area’s scenic hills and creeks. He recalls climbing Mount Bonnell for the first time and playing in Shoal Creek, which was one block from his childhood home and remains his favorite part of Austin. Blessed with a large family, Tom has 13 brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law.
