About Wild DFW

Written by Amy Martin, a reporter for Green Source DFW, ‘Wild DFW’ explores the amazing nature in and around Dallas-Fort Worth.

For her research, Martin walked hundreds of miles on North Texas trails, recruiting experts from Texas Parks and Wildlife, Botanical Research Institute of Texas, universities and nonprofit groups to guide and review her work. In the process, she developed a network of highly trained citizen naturalists in specialty fields – including TBG’s own Directory of Sustainably, Mikel Wilkins.

You can find Mikel in the ‘Creeks and Watersheds — the last repository of urban nature’ chapter, as well as a complete list of contributors by chapter here.

The book features more than 350 color photos by area naturalists and more than 40 detailed maps. The comprehensive guide book is a must-have resource for North Texas nature lovers, eco-tourists and local ecological history buffs.
