Celebrating The Loop Plaza

10.20.26

The Loop Plaza is a vibrant new public space that connects the Hi Line Connector to the Katy Trail for the first time, opening a gateway to Victory Park, the Design District, West Dallas and the Trinity Strand Trail.

Designed by TBG Partners, the Plaza transforms a former dead end and retaining wall at Victory Avenue and North Houston Street into an active gathering place, retrofitting an overlooked piece of urban infrastructure to bring people together. The project demonstrates how thoughtful design can turn underused urban space into a civic asset, reimagining mobility and connection for Dallas.

On site at The Loop Plaza, all fixtures were checked for an even glow and a consistent cast across flat work and the sculptural surfaces—while ensuring the light stays focused on the project and out of adjacent apartments.

Setting a new standard for future trails, the project bridges geographic barriers that have long isolated Dallas neighborhoods from transportation hubs. It offers a walkable and bikeable solution, connecting people and resources across the city. The project’s focus on connectivity, sustainability, and community ensures that it will be a transformative piece of Dallas’s urban fabric, further strengthening the city’s active transportation infrastructure.

The Loop Plaza marks a major milestone in The Loop Dallas’ work, shaping the city’s future identity through a connected network of trails, green space and public spaces on a truly citywide scale. Congratulations to The Loop Dallas, the City of Dallas, and generous private donors that transformed The Loop Dallas from a bold civic vision into a Dallas landmark the partnership. The team worked closely with Friends of the Katy Trail, the organization that operates and maintains the Katy Trail.

See you on the trails!
