design
This month, nearly 1,000 visitors came together to celebrate the grand opening of the Lakemont community. Over 20 acres have been thoughtfully transformed, now featuring water play areas, a larger-than-life alligator play structure, an outdoor fitness zone, a terraced event lawn, rolling hills, sports courts, and play fields that double as dry detention areas. From IT and Data coordination, interior design help, branding and logo design, and even event planning, TBG was a part of the project every step of the way. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the grand opening and to all who contributed to making this vision a reality.
Life cycle of the bayou
The design intent of the project was to provide an existing community with a new flagship amenity that did not feel out of place with the existing vernacular. Our designers used the influence of the local flora and fauna to establish a theme for the playground and splash pad and focus on the life cycle of local native animal species, bringing education and recognition of valuable ecosystems in a fun and active way. The project space centers around the life activities of the local fauna. A large berm is shaped like the body of an alligator and completed at the end with a custom alligator head climbing element fabricated by a local specialty wood shop.
Engaging with nature
Nature-inspired play at Creekside Park is designed to spark productive engagement. Here, kids—and kids at heart—are invited to interact directly with their surroundings, shaping how the environment looks and functions. They can redirect water through a rocky stream, experiment with loose blue blocks, or dig into a sand nest complete with alligator eggs, building creativity, imagination, and confidence.
