Breaking Ground on The Loop Plaza: A Transformative Connection for Dallas
We’re excited to announce the start of construction on The Loop Plaza, a groundbreaking project that will transform the way people move between Victory Park and the Design District in Dallas, Texas by connecting the existing and well-loved Hi Line and Katy Trail.
With over four million visits annually, Katy Trail is currently Dallas’ most heavily used trail, and the growing demand from residents and visitors for an interconnected trail system has made this a prime connection opportunity.
The Loop Plaza will feature a pedestrian and bike bridge extending the Katy Trail, complemented by a plaza beneath designed as a space for gathering and resting while linking to the Hi Line Trail. This new connection will not only create a seamless passage between the trails but will also serve as a distinctive destination for trail users, as well as daily patrons of Victory Park and the Dallas Design District. The tiered plaza and bridge will be fully accessible for pedestrians and cyclists and will be visible from the intersection of North Houston Street and Victory Avenue West.
Once completed, this trailhead will set the stage for future equitable trailheads and a fully interconnected trail loop system across Dallas.
This exciting project wouldn’t be possible without the partnership between The Loop Dallas, the City of Dallas and generous private donors. We can’t wait to see this vision brought to life and look forward to updating you as construction progresses!
