Big news was announced in Austin this week and it’s no tall tale — construction has begun on what will be not only the capitol city’s tallest tower, but the tallest in the state of Texas. USA Today covered the release, citing development partners Lincoln Property Company and Kairoi Residential. The mixed-use tower will include residential, hotel, retail and restaurant space overlooking the iconic Lady Bird Lake.

TBG Partners is responsible for the landscape architecture and urban design of the supertall tower, which has freshly been named Waterline. With about 3.5 acres of outdoor amenity space, the design will increase Rainey Street District’s connectivity to Downtown Austin. Additionally, the open design will allow residents to naturally interact with each other and the city around them.
