Eastbound is a space where connections are made—between buildings, people, nature and the East Austin neighborhood. With outdoor spaces that encourage both teamwork and solo moments to take a call, enjoy a coffee, catch up with a colleague, watch cardinals dive between trees, or enjoy a change of scenery under the Bald Cypresses. Inspired by the paths people naturally take, the design softens the architectural “canyon” created by the interior courtyard by creating a fun pedestrian focused environment.

Concrete step pads over gravel create a more residential feeling and ensure you get from A to B quickly, all while protecting the lush planting and built environments. The planting works with available natural lighting going from a deep green with River Ferns in the low light interior and growing in color with Turk’s Cap, often visited by hummingbirds, as you walk through the courtyard to the street where there is more sunlight. As night falls, the lights sprinkled throughout the landscaping double as twinkling fireflies, adding a magical touch.

The project is LEED Gold, WELL Certified and a bee-friendly establishment outfitted with beehives on the campus to contribute to the health of our environment and boost local pollination. Whether you’re working or relaxing, Eastbound has something for everyone, including TBG—Eastbound is where our Austin office hangs its hat.
