Rainey Street’s skyline is certainly about to change greatly with the development of 644-unit apartment and retail tower, 80 Rainey. Towers discussed this imminent shift, citing renderings by TBG and other developers working on the project.

Tower’s James Rambin discusses the controversy that has come with the tower plans, but states that the presence of bars– arguably what many know the street for, was also a transitional phrase. And after all, the historic bungalows on either side of the site will remain.
