From Talk 1340…
In a virtual meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 15, the Lubbock City Council unanimously approved funding for the design work to begin on a new park in Downtown Lubbock.
Assistant City Manager, Jessica McEachern, was the one who gave a presentation that outlined the few known details of what the Downtown Civic Park will be.
The Downtown Civic Park is an idea included as a recommendation in Phase One of the Downtown Lubbock Master Plan that was first adopted by the city council back on June 9th, 2020.
Then on August 6th, the city sorted through 13 vendor applications for which company would be responsible for designing the park. 3 finalists were selected and gave in-person presentations. Ultimately, on November 19th, TBG Partners from San Antonio were selected to design the park.
