Residents of McKinney, Texas, are pleased to hear Painted Tree’s newest announcement. On June 9 it was released the community will be adding 25 miles of looped paths, trails, and other outdoor amenities. Following COVID-19 there has been an increased appeal to walking trails and outdoor amenities in residential areas. In fact, 69% of potential homebuyers rated walking trails as the most desired feature of a new community according to Community Impact Newspaper. The residential community has plans to construct 3,400 residencies on their more than 1,000 acres of land.

The community vision, “your porch as a trailhead” was derived during a virtual charrette with the designers and stakeholders in September 2020 putting a strong focus on walkability and outdoors. The additional amenities help to further this vision and prioritize the investment in parks and open spaces for the community.
