In the latest issue of Texas Architect Magazine, TBG landscape designer Leah Gundrum shares a compelling look at green burial in her story, “Toward a Landscape of Presence.”
Leah’s work explores a unique dual perspective, bridging her practice as a designer with her experience as a death doula. Her research examines how we can reimagine burial grounds not as isolated spaces, but as vibrant, green civic landscapes that integrate the cycles of life and remembrance into the fabric of our cities.
This exploration was fueled by TBG Partners’s Idea Lab, our in-house R&D incubator. Through Idea Lab, Leah traveled to pioneering sites in the U.S. and Europe to study how thoughtful design can re-humanize these sacred spaces and foster deeper ecological stewardship.
Thank you to Texas Architect Magazine for featuring such a meaningful topic with the broader design community.
