With over 30 years of experience as a landscape architect, Russell Larsen is a strong leader who guides studio members with a focus on design and delivery. He develops and then implements strategy to promote narrative design and concise, effective drawings. Put simply, he pushes to discover the “exceptional” in design. Russell finds inspiration in studies that look at understanding how people perceive the environment around them and how designers can harness this understanding to create more memorable and impactful designs.

Born and raised in Fullerton, California, Russell spent his formative years collecting imperfect guitar bodies and necks from the Fender Guitar industrial complexes to build and sell guitars to his classmates. He enjoys traveling and has experienced some of the world’s most wonderful and mysterious places. One of his most dramatic and memorable experiences was watching the annual Wildebeest Migration across the Serengeti-Masai Mara wilderness in Kenya.
