Growing up with a public park behind her childhood house, Cindy understands the importance of public green spaces to explore the natural world around us. As a kid, she could often be found wondering around the creeks catching crawdads. During her studies, Cindy spent a semester in Italy where she lived in a small Tuscan town that allowed her to visit Florence, Rome, Venice, and Milan. She was able to travel all over the country from cliff diving in Amalfi, to exploring the ruins of Pompei, to attending Mass with the Pope John Paul II. One of Cindy’s greatest achievements was in 2004 when she traveled with her husband to Russia to adopt their daughter.
