We are so excited to finally share our good news with you! This year we picked up two H-GAC Parks and Natural Areas Special Recognition Awards for our work on The Groves and Willow Fork Park!

The Groves
Planning

The Groves is an immersive community with rich natural character — it provides residents with a genuine connection to nature that becomes the backdrop, and an integral element, of their daily lives. The 993-acre site is full of towering pine trees, which were carefully preserved and provide a distinctive ambience of living in the woods. Madera Creek passes through and helps organize the long, linear site, with neighborhoods and trails — accented with spontaneous gathering nodes featuring elements like log steppers and hammocks — leading to the water. Amenities include the Hearth, a large pavilion, pool and grand, stacked stone fireplace that feels like a lake house, and Fish Camp, a designated fishing area surrounded by log seating areas and benches. The lifestyle center includes a great lawn, splash pads, trails, yard games and playground.

Willow Fork Park
Projects Over $500,000

Opened in November 2016, Willow Fork Park is a 32-acre park completed as part of Phase II of Willow Fork Drainage District’s Parks Master Plan, which was developed by TBG to serve multiple communities within WFDD. The park design converted the flat 32-acre parcel into a more immersive setting with topographical variety — large rolling hills provide many informal play opportunities — as well as multipurpose lawns, trails, disc golf, playground and a lake. Additional project elements include a pedestrian bridge, pavilion, boardwalks, solar-powered lighting, rain gardens and educational signage.
