This might seem the worst time to open a new hotel tower or restaurant, but San Antonio developer and entrepreneur Chris Hill believes the time is now.

Hill, the developer behind the Canopy by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk hotel set to open April 22, is counting on it to go against conventional wisdom.

“We think we’re bringing something to the San Antonio River that’s maybe not currently in the lineup. Something more contemporary. Something with a little edge,” he said Hill.
