D Magazine just published an article about the future of Five Mile Creek in Dallas, Texas. TBG Partners is working on the regional trail as part of a masterplan for the Trust for Public Land, representing community-focused urban renewal through enhanced open space and connectivity.
According to the piece, Dallas’ Mayor Johnson wants to allocate some of the extra $20 million in sales tax revenue to developing the trail. The mayor hopes this effort would improve racial equity, being that the site is in a predominantly Black and Latino area and has not received fair investment compared to other neighborhoods.
